Very Poor (Failure)

6
As a 1930s wife, I am
Very Poor (Failure)
I really thought that I was an old- fashioned gal, so imagine my disappointment when I found that I am a very poor (failure) 30's wife.  Alas.

Dream Weaver

Clark woke up from his nap yesterday screaming and crying.  I am usually pretty dismissive about crying kids and sleep- it's a survival technique that I learned early on from being a parent of twins.  But, he had slept for a while, so I went to get him out of bed.  When I picked him up and we cuddled for a while he said, "dreams" in a sad little voice and I asked him if he had had a bad dream.  He said yes and then said, "awake now".  I don't know if this conversation was coincidental- sometimes he'll say yes to basically any question that you ask him- or if my little 2 year old really does get the concept of dreams.

Take a Hike

We went hiking with our friends.  It's a pretty easy hike with lots of views of the ocean.  I got to go before with my family for my birthday, so it was nice knowing where to go with this friend.  Usually she knows where all the cool stuff is and I am just the loser follower...
The kids decided that they wanted to hike over to a big rock in the middle of a grassy meadow.  This was before we got a billion pokey grass heads in our socks and also before someone came by and told us that they had just seen a baby rattlesnake.  Oops.  Maybe it's best to stay on the trail!

On the big rock- no one has noticed the pokey grass yet.

My friend likes to call herself a "gear girl" and it's pretty true- if you want to do outdoor stuff, she's outfitted pretty well for her whole family and then some.  She let me use this big backpack thingy to carry Clark, who kept yelling, "yook at me!"  I bet he would go everywhere like this if he could.

Good times!

Clark Turns Two!

The night before Clark turned two, the girls helped me decorate, and they made cupcakes for his birthday.

They were very proud of their decorations, and it was fun staying up late with them doing something nice for their brother.  The girls are always nice to their brother.

Here is Clark the morning of his birthday.  Doesn't he look two?

My parents came and we went to the pier and rode the carousel.  It's Clark's favorite thing to do.  He says that his horse is named Dino.

Here is Clark wearing the Elmo shirt that he wants to wear every day, happily opening his presents.

Happy Birthday to you!
