First Words

Clark says "da da da" for everything. So, we could call that his first word. But I think that his real first word is "tweet tweet tweet" which he copied me saying tonight when we got to the page about the birds in his bed time story. Hearing him tweet just warmed my heart, and makes me smile (with pride?) every time I think of it. What a blessing to be a mother.

What's Up?

We got to go to the Chinese New Year parade again this year. The highlight for the girls is getting snow-cones.

Looking at the dragon

Clark is getting more mischevious in his old age. I like that he found this tea set and knew to put the cup in his mouth (although he puts everything in his mouth, I guess.) But at the time I was impressed that he got in the cupboard and knew what to do with what he found. I'm sure that this will be less impressive with time- "stop ruining all my stuff!"

Clark clapping at the Chinese New Year parade. He's a great clapper.

Our amazing vantage point. The girls loved riding on our shoulders.

Happy birthday to Paul! I took him to a taping of Jeopardy for his birthday which was a lot of fun. However, since we were out having fun I didn't have time to make his birthday pie that day, so he got it the day after. This is him blowing out a candle on his actual day of birthday- see the Jeopardy postcard lovingly placed in the background? Our shows that we watch will air the week of June 14- crazy that it's so far away!

The girls on Valentine's Day. "Flowers?! Huh?!"

An impromptu sled. Thank you, Costco.

Everybody Loves Patricia

I just called to make an appointment with an optometrist. The receptionist took my name and address, and then proceeded to call me "Patricia".
"Okay Patricia, looks like we have an open spot on Friday."
"Okay Patricia, what type of insurance do you have?"
"Okay Patricia, what are the last 4 digits of your husband's social security number?"

I guess my last name is my one claim to fame.

Current Events

We went to the LA arboretum. The girls had fun following this path and looking at the pretty "jewels" in the walkway. I don't know why they are slouching in this photo- probably because they don't want their picture taken. The Arboretum is similar to the Huntington Library and in the city next door. It is not as grand, but is lots of fun to go to.

This is Ruthie's party at Joy School. Happy 5!

This is a tower that we (I) built at Joy School! We can accomplish our goals!

Visions of duets to come

The girls got up before us yesterday and came downstairs and made themselves peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They used spoons because knives aren't safe. I got to eat this triple-decker. Not bad! Yesterday I let them watch a movie while I took a nap, and when it was over I heard Grace whisper to Camille, "let's go make something!" When I rolled over and asked what they were going to make, they said, "Easter eggs!" They were excited about getting them done with before Easter so they'd be all ready. But, I told them no. Mean mom. We put out cereal and bowls for them this morning, to see if the self-sufficient streak would continue, but when I came downstairs they said that they can't pour cereal in bowls because it's too messy. Oh well. I guess we hampered their creativity.

Like father like son.

Snack Party

We don't really watch the Super Bowl (...no tv...), but Paul has requested Super Bowl snacks.

Any suggestions?
